Nominations ICMA 2026
Two productions nominated for the ICMA 2026
Two productions that we supported with PR were nominated for the ICMA 2026: “Sergio Fiorentino – The Legacy” (Brilliant Classics) and “Tides of Dance” with Franziska Pietsch, the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, and Jonathan Pasternack (ARIA Classics).
The Sergio Fiorentino Edition, which was nominated in the category "Historical Recordings", is the most comprehensiv ever ecorded tribute to the Italian pianist Sergio Fiorentino. The set has been curated by collector Ernst Lumpe who also contributes an introduction and essay alongside texts by Christoph Schlüren and Ottavia Maria Maceratini. It was Lumpe who drew the pianist out of retirement in the 1990s, resulting in an “Indian Summer” of recordings made in Berlin up until shortly before Fiorentino’s death in 1998. These are reissued here together with much less familiar solo and concerto recordings from the 1950s and 60s (“The Early Recordings”), as well as separate sections devoted to Fiorentino’s distinctive, free-spirited mastery of Chopin and Liszt.
"Tides of Dance", featuring Franziska Pietsch (violin), the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, and conductor Jonathan Pasternack, nominated in the Concerto category, presents violin concertos by Richard Strauss and Édouard Lalo. Strauss’ radiant Romanticism unites brilliant virtuosity with melancholic depth; the five “dances” of Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole each unfold their own unique character, filled with passion, rhythm, longing, and energy, creating a captivating musical narrative. Together, they form a grand “Dance of Life”, characterized by continuity and change, lightness and passion, resistance and surrender – a symbol of the eternal tides of existence: Tides of Dance.
